How to Carve a Pumpkin Into a Spooky Cooler

Do you know what you’re dressing up for Halloween as? If not, that’s quite okay—at least you’ll be the talk of the party with your pumpkin-turned-to-a-cooler. Isn’t it nifty looking? If you’re looking to spice things up a bit, why not serve a delicious hot or cold drink in an artistically carved pumpkin? Never thought of that before? Me either. Thank goodness Graphicjack from Instructables knows what’s up and has all of the steps you need, including extra instructions for his crazy awesome carving skills.

Alrighty, let’s go to the pumpkin patch; you’re going to need to get yourself a big ole gourd—it’s important that it is taller than it is wide. You want to be able to fill up your pumpkin with at least a couple gallons worth of your favorite beverage. Since you’re skinning the thing, the heavier the pumpkin is, the better—the key here is thick walls. Graphicjack walks you through on the technique of gutting and skinning your pumpkin for the best functionality and look, ever. You don’t have to go too crazy on your design, depending on how long you’d like to spend on your Halloween cooler. Once you have your spout in place, go ahead and fill up your creation. Once you’re finished with it, you now have an awesome pumpkin to place in front of your home.

This cooler doesn’t have to be for spooky, ghouly, Halloween only. You could get totally creative and make a neat design for Thanksgiving dinner, autumn weddings, or just for fun. Either way, it’s just another different way to add a little spice into the mix. Plus, hello—did someone say “pumpkin seeds?” Yes please.
