So, those wooden things you place underneath a pizza to retrieve it? Yeah, those are pizza peels. Who knew such ingeniousness would have such a name? It’s the first I’ve heard of it, perhaps I live underneath a rock. Anyways, I digress. Lifehacker found a really awesome tip that will change pizza tool storage for forever.
Pizza peels are big and bulky, but boy do they come in handy. If you’re looking for clever storage ideas in your kitchen, it’s time to raid your fellow musician. You need yourself a good ole classic guitar mount.
On the food blog, Serious Eats, Managing Culinary Director, J. Kenji-Lopez-Alt, came up with the brilliant idea of using one of his guitar mounts to help with his kitchen clutter—pizza peels specifically. Use a guitar mount to hang it out of the way!
Guitar mounts are super cheap—you don’t need anything expensive. All you have to do is grab yourself one, and mount it to the side of your cupboard or wall. It’s best to use a two-pronged guitar rack so you can secure it into the wall without the worry of your pizza peels falling. Depending on your space, you could get away with hanging a couple pizza peels on one mount or other similar cookware to help with freeing up some space.
No more pizza peels wedged in awkward refrigerator gaps or inconveniently positioned in the cabinets. It’s just you, your pizza peel, and a hot pie to eat right out of the oven.
