Build a Backyard Portable Kitchen for Less Than $1000

Outdoor kitchens are awesome, but costs thousands of dollars to have in your backyard. If you’re looking for a grill and kitchen combined, you can build yourself for about $600. The fact that it’s portable is even better because you don’t have to permanently settle with one setup.

Over at Instructables, user molarin shares his tutorial on how he constructed an outdoor portable kitchen. The main structure is made from wood and has wheels on the bottom, making it easily movable and portable. If you’re handy with intermediate construction skills, you’ll have this DIY project completed in no time.

From a sink to a countertop, and even an inset cutting board, this is the perfect kitchen setup. It adds versatility to any yard, allowing you to cook, prep food, and clean—all in one location. You can even add hooks in front of your barbeque to hang various grilling tools for easy accessibility. As for the sink, by adding a normal water tap and connecting it to a water hose, you can allow the wastewater to drain off or use a bucket to catch it. The open space underneath is great for storage and cooking items to free up your counter space.

Depending on what materials you already have, you could probably get this under $600.
