Cook Pizza on Your Transit’s Engine

Okay, so I admit, this post is strange, and oddly amusing. But, you can cook pizza on your vehicle’s engine while you’re driving around. Hey now, don’t be too quick to judge. It’s the perfect solution for while you’re on the go and want a warm bite to eat.

Over at Instructables, user Gregarious decided to give car engine pizza a try – and the results are belly approved. So, if you want to use your own transit or car engine as an oven, the steps are super easy. All you need is a pizza, a pizza tray with holes, pliers, foil, and wire…oh, one more thing, don’t forget the oven mitts!

Since you’ll be driving around with the pizza on your engine, you need to secure it in place. By feeding wire through the holes in the tray, create four loops opposite of each other. Then, to keep the tray from sliding around, wrap more wires around the engine compartments to the tray. Finally, cover your pie in the foil, interlock your loops to secure the pizza, and take a drive.

Drive around for an hour or so, and make sure to bring a thermometer with you to check the temperature when stopped. In no time, you’ll have cooked pizza you can enjoy. You can pretty much do this with a variety of foods to warm up – wrap it in tin foil and you have a warm meal in the making. Just stay away from the raw stuff.

Warm up spaghetti? Perhaps a grilled cheese? Chinese leftovers?

You’re only a few miles away from warm delicious goodness.
