Remove Grass Stains from Clothing with Sugar

No one likes grass stains. They often seem impossible to remove—you do everything you can, but still, that faint green color still lingers. Thankfully, sugar can do the trick to remove those pesky stains. By working some sugar into the stain before tossing it in the washing machine, you’ll actually break down the chlorophyll—the stuff that’s responsible for the green stains!

Lifehacker found a fantastic video (below) from HouseholdHacker, showing you the trick to remove fresh grass stains from your clothes. You’ll find the specific tip at 0:56 seconds— simply make a paste with warm water and a half-cup of sugar. Dish out the paste on the grass stain, and let it to sit for half an hour. Then, toss your clothing in your washing machine as usual. If that doesn’t work, repeat the sugar paste trick, and rewash.

This tip works for fresh grass stains only. Since you’ve dried your clothing with pre-existing grass stains, more than likely those stains have already set. It’s a bummer, but at least here on out you can go on with life grass-stain-free!
