Remove Grease Stains from Clothing with Liquid Dish Soap

Grease stains from cooking oily foods or repairing appliances are bound to leave your shirt or pants covered in grease. Out of all stains, those are the worst of the worst to get out...until now.

Whether the stain is new or old, you can work out the grease with a little bit of liquid dish soap. Over at The Kitchn, Emma Christensen makes mention about the “grease-busting properties” dish soap has to work on your dishes—so the method here makes sense...why not for your clothing?

I rubbed a little dish soap right onto one of our most recent stains and let it sit for a little while before washing. I sent the shirt through the wash and didn't see a stain, so I went ahead and dried it too. Like magic, the stain was gone.

Liquid dish soap such as Dawn should do the trick. There’s no need to go buy expensive products – you have all that you need sitting by your kitchen sink.
