Use Magnetic Strips for Hanging Spices

When you’re cooking, having the spices you use right at your fingertips helps the process go even more smoothly.

Using a magnetic strip to display spice jars is both attractive and kitchen-friendly. They’re easy to see, easy to use, and easy to put back as you go. And, they will definitely be a conversation piece of your kitchen. Did I mention you get more cupboard and counter space, too? Of course there are pros and cons about using magnetic strips in the kitchen for your spices. One benefit is that you can mount magnetic strips just about anywhere you have space in the kitchen. Those under-cabinet “dead spaces” right next to your cook top are perfect for hanging your spices from a magnetic strip.

On the other hand, sticking your spices on a magnetic strip will likely expose them to a lot of light, which can degrade the quality. To get around this, store only your most commonly used spices on the strip.

Also, be sure not to mount the magnetic strip directly above the stove where a poor-sealing jar could get condensation, such as from boiling water.
