This fridge is 32 years old, I was told. The ice maker stopped working. I checked the continuity on the inlet valve and there was no continuity. Then I checked the amperage and it read 6.5 amps.
What should the amperage be on this valve?
Is the amperage about the same on all valves? If not, what would be the reason for the difference?

Hello, To test the valve the best water would be to put the ice maker into harvest mode. Remove the front white plastic cover and you will see a screw on the big gear, start turning the screw and the ice maker will start to move on its own. When it does go to the back of the unit and check for 120 volt ac at the correct valve. If power is there you need a new valve if no power you will need a new ice maker

Isn’t there a way to just check the valve to determine if it is good or bad?
