My evaporator fan motor doesn’t work when installed into the freezer, but when hooked directly to 12 Volts it functions properly.

I have a samsung sxs refrig that builds ice around the evaporator fan motor every few months inside the refrigerator compartment. If it is melted it works fine. It is defrosting obviously but I dont know what the permanent fix is. I see you have a video showing the replacement of the defrost heater assembly but is anything different on this than what I already have? Model is RS263TDWP Serial is JJ9Z4GBZ500034N. Thanks for any help

How do I remove the front door control panel for a samsung rf26xaers. It has one screw by ice chute that I can remove but I could not figure out how to remove the control panel to get to the ice chute. The ice chute door does not close all the way and is dripping water from my ice maker. Could you also give me the part # of the part I will need to order.

I have a Samsung RF263AEPN model refrigerator that was purchased in 2012. I has not been keeping the refrigerator cool despite the 34 degrees display reading. I removed the perishable foods before going on vacation and came back about 10 days later. Still not cool. I noticed ice on the vents in back panels and in slots in the shelving unit. I placed it in “OF” mode last night. This morning there was water in the deli bin and under the bin. I cleaned up the water and placed the frig in 34 degrees temp, but did not hear any noise. I kept it on for about five minutes while I continued to remove the water and the temp inside slowly changed from 34 to 37. I placed the frig back on “OF” mode. When I get home tonight it will be on “OF” mode, despite that five minute interval, for 20 hours. Hopefully, every bit of ice has melted. I hope it solves the problem.

I’ve watched your videos on how ice build up behind the back panel will prevent a frig from getting cold. I’ve also had to remove this build up of ice myself a total of 3 times. I noticed after the last time I removed the ice and plugged it back in my frig temp gauge would show 34 degrees but the compartment was not close to being that cold. Why would my frig not get as cold as the temp gauge even after I cleared all the ice out? Now I’m in the process of removing ice again and my question is what part do you think, based on your experience as a repair technician, I need to replace so I don’t have to do this every 2 months? I can verify that the fan is still operating properly. Would you suggest I replace the heater? Or the sensor? If I purchased the heater would the sensor also come with it? The frig is only 2 yrs 4 months old. Thanks for your help.

The fridge is leaking water into the bottom drawer and it is not cooling. I saw the video Samsung RF268ABBP Refrigerator Repair – Fresh food section is leaking water – Sensor. This is the closest to the model I have. Also another one I saw similar is Samsung RF266AEPN Refrigerator Repair – Not cooling properly, freezing up on the back panel – Evaporator and Defrost System. Am I better off trying to replace the sensor or the whole Evaporator and defrost system on my Samsung RF267AERS ?

Thanks in advance for your answer!

SAMSUNG RS265 TDWP/XAA – purchased in 2012 .

Problems: no cooling air on the fridge compartment, but freezer has working normally.
The problem details:
o Water drained into and frosted under the vegetable bottom drawer for a couple weeks, stopped.
o Noise from fan was on and off in the following weeks and stopped.
o Now, no more cooling in the fridge compartment.
o I watched the VA video. Do you think the Evaporator Defrost system/heater, sensor, or the main board is needed for my refrigerator? What is the part number I should order on VA website?

I’d like to thank for your help.

Samsung RF4267HARS. First I found water in the bottom of the Refrigerator compartment and on the floor under the refrigerator. Now the food in my Flex Drawer is freezing. What should I fix or replace? I have been reading that the heaters are faulty and the drain sensor fails as well. Should I change out both while I am inside there?

Hello,
Our refrigerator is now 6 years old. About a year ago we noticed the refrigerator temp was getting warmer and the freezer temperature was getting colder than what was displayed on the LCD screen. The temperature is about 10 degrees warmer in the refrigerator and 10-15 degrees colder in the freezer. We also heard the evaporator fan started to get loud. We took the refrigerator apart and had to de-ice the coils in the refrigerator. There was ice covering from the thermistor, evaporator line, heater, down to the coils, all the way down to the drain.

We have checked the seal on the refrigerator doors – they are fine. We have cleaned the dust from the back of the refrigerator as well as underneath. We have made sure there was at least a 2″ clearance from the refrigerator to the wall and counters. An HVAC technician has come to our house twice to replace some of the parts. I believe a new control board was even replaced. I have the part numbers, just not with me now. Once the refrigerator has been de-iced, the temperature will start to warm in the refrigerator/colder in the freezer within 2 weeks. We’ve already spent $400 on new parts for our refrigerator, but it still isn’t fixed. We would really like a second opinion on how we could repair our refrigerator before we put any more money into it.
Please help!!!

Thank you,
Kendra & Drew

We have had this fridge since 2011. About a year ago the fridge side wasn’t cooling but freezer side works fine. I finally did a lot of research and discovered that we have a dual evap fridge and decided to take matters into my own hands and open up the back of the inside fridge panel. I did find a little over frosting on the evaporator and I let it defrost. It begin working again. it would last a couple of months and do this again. More recently it started to not cool and I would just leave it alone and four days later it would start cooling again on its own. Now finally its been two weeks and has not cooled at all. I opened it up and the evaporator was somewhat frosted up and so was the drain hole. I unplugged it for 24hrs and let it defrost and made sure the drain hole was clear of ice by pouring a small amount of hot water in it. When I plugged it back in I noticed one flashing light on the temperature setting. the fifth light from the bottom to be exact, and I wasn’t able to press no other buttons. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it went away but the fridge still won’t cool. Everything that I have tried does not work. I ordered a new heater-sheath but now I’m wondering if I need a whole new evap assembly. Please help! we are so tired of having our food in a ice chest. Thank you for any information you can give us.

I have been wrestling with this for the past two days – ever since my wife noticed that everything in the fridge was frozen. This is a Samsung unit with the fridge on top and the freezer on the bottom. The freezer is working just fine and the freezer display agrees with a separate freezer thermometer I put inside the freezer. The fridge side, however, is set at 38*, but the internal thermometer says it’s about 12* in there!

I downloaded the service manual for this model fridge, but it is rather poorly written. I checked for trouble codes, but I didn’t have anything that matched what was in the service manual. On start up my display will completely light up for a second or two, then go dark and then a number “3” will pop up of the refrigerator side of the display. Then the display will show the actual temperatures of the freezer and fridge before going back to displaying the selected temperature settings.

A quick online search indicates a bad thermistor in the refrigerator section. I am a little wary because on start up, the fridge displays actual temperature quite accurately. Some thermometer inside the fridge is working. I get that a thermistor is not a thermometer and that if the thermistor is responsible for making the fridge self-defrost, then I guess it would make sense.

I suspect that the fridge evaporator is completely iced over. In an effort to remedy this, I went into the “forced operation” mode and selected fridge defrost. I’m currently listening to my bridge beep constantly as I wait to see if this does anything.

Food safety is something that I really obsess about and getting this fridge back to normal as quickly as possible is a huge priority for me.

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated!

I have examined the heating element of this Samsung dryer; but it did not appear broken. The coils were a bit black in some places but nothing broken. The inside of the dryer was filthy with lint … on the motor, in the heating element, and clogged in the lint exhaust hose. The tub spins and it has power. Is this low heat condition and indication that the heating element is going out or is there a problem with a thermostat not working correctly? What would cause a low heat condition in the dryer?

Thanks-

Fred / Lubbock, TX.

We found our ice team getting soft and realized the freezer was not doing its job. After a little looking around we found the air outlets on the back panel of the fridge were iced over. I then removed the back panel and found the evaporator coil iced up. The fan had a history of being noisy since it was new so I figured the fan died and the lack of air flow over the coil caused all of my problems. I replaced the back panel assy. Which included the fan. This did not fix my problem. The freezer is reading 65 and the fridge is at 38. I do not here the new fan run at all. I do appreciate any and all help you may provide and parts that I can purchase through you.

Thank you,
Mike Wynne

The freezer is set at -4 degrees on the digital display and seems to be working properly. The fridge is set at 34 degrees and still shows 34 degrees on the digital display but is much warmer. I vacuumed the coils and seems to run OK. Please help me diagnose the issue.

Thanks,

David

Hi, I have a Samsung dryer that is running but just not heating. I have replaced the Heating element and checked all of the thermostats, thermistor, relay and power. All are good. There is no lint blockage and the blower turns with the drum. I then took the entire heating element with housing and thermostats into a local repair shop for them to test and everything was good. I was instructed to disconnect the two wires from the relay and connect the blue and black wire together to try to get heat which again resulted in no heat. The local repair shop said that he knows of nothing else to check. Am I really out of options? Please help.

With reference to the above, the frigde was not cooling. Therefore I took the back off & used a hair dryer to get rid of any ice. I used the hair dryer for 30 minutes then I dismantled the fridge. I continued to dry for another 30 minutes on the internal parts & then reassembled. I plugged the fridge back in at approximately 1700hrs. The temperature read 20C & when I replaced the food the temperature rose to 25C. It is now 1900hrs & the temperature is 17C!

Please help?

My refrigerator started to make a noise and then the temp started to drop. I noticed that the back panel had ice in the holes so I got everything out of fridge and freezer and unplugged it for 24 hours. I plugged it back in and everything started to work until 2 months later the noise came back and I noticed the ice again in the back panel. Right now I have everything out of the fridge and freezer and have unplugged it. What can I do to not have to do this every 2 months?

Thank you!

Have been managing the non-existant defrosting by completely thawing out the unit every 5 or 6 months. After the last thaw, the fridge is now freezing everything in the bins and on the lower levels. It sounds as though “something” is trying to kick in every so often, but never does. Don’t know what to do now.
Thanks

Fridge freezes behind the back panel until the fan at first makes noise (hitting the ice) then stops and the fridge starts to get warm. When I remove the back panel I can see the ice is everywhere and there is a big lump of Ice around a wire or tube on the right, then at the bottom of the evaporator (I think that’s what you call it) so the drain at the bottom is all iced over. I have gone thru this process of taking it apart and defrosting it, each time within a few weeks we are back to square one. I saw a video of one of your guys fixing an issue in a very similar model in a video on your site called “Refrigerator Repair – Not cooling properly, freezing up on the back panel -Samsung – RF266AEPN” I Looks exactly like my issue, I just need to know the exact parts I need to do the job. Can you help.
