My Cabrio whirlpool washer displays f5 e2 which we have found is something with the lid. However we have tried unblocking anything to the lid and it still isn’t running. The last time it ran it had a large load of bulky sheets. It made a large thumping noise and jumped a bit and then started displaying that same code. We have tried clearing the latch but that doesn’t seem to do anything.

The lid switch is broken internally, you will need a new switch. The video at the link below shows how it is replaced.
