Our fridge is working great as far as we can tell. We have owned it for 3+ years.
I am writing because I have noticed that when the compressor is on, or at least I think it is on, and at a higher rate of speed that it is a bit loud inside the unit and has some variation in the motor sounds when it is running – not smooth. I would like to send you an audio file that I created of the sound so you can see if things seem ok.
I could wait til it breaks but the unit is used in a luxury rental property and we don’t want a large failure in the middle of our rental season! Hope you can understand that I am being proactive vs. reactive.
I believe the fridge has made this sound for a while but am not sure if it is getting worse? Unclear to me.
And, if possible, I would like to know how to clean the coils of the fridge. I hope it doesn’t need to be rolled out to do this. Thanks.

Hello
The compressor is a variable speed and could be on high speed if your condenser is dirty. The condenser coils are at the top, behind the plastic control panel. Turn off the unit with the master switch behind the grille before you start cleaning. You have to remove the top grille by lifting and pulling out the center grille slat, which then exposes two 1/4 inch hex screws, which you remove to take off the whole grille. Then you can see two Phillips screws at the top of the plastic control panel, remove them and look behind the control panel to see two more 1/4 hex screws at the bottom of the control panel that each hold a small bracket keeping the bottom of the control panel in place. Loosen but do not remove them. Open both refrigerator doors, and pull the plastic control panel forward. There should be two cables that will support the panel, so just let it hang. Now you can see the black coils on the left side. Since the doors are still open (you cannot close them with the panel removed), you have to work quickly to clean the coils. Reassemble by placing the control panel back in place, taking care to get the bottom part under the brackets. Then tighten/reinstall all screws. DON'T FORGET TO TURN ON THE MASTER SWITCH WHEN YOU ARE DONE. See the complete manual link on your model below.

Hello, thanks for your prompt reply. Can you please supply a method for me to send you the voice recording so you can listen to the noise. I would appreciate it because I don’t think the issue is whether it is on high speed or how often it is on high speed but instead the specific sounds it makes when it is on this speed. This is my primary question, about the SPECIFIC NOISE it makes. thanks.

Jeff, we do not have any way of uploading a voice recording. You asked us how to clean the condenser. A dirty condenser will make the compressor overheat and can cause compressor vibration and noise. Have you cleaned the condenser yet?
