Has Samsung or anyone come up with a retofit Kit or a fix for this problem as of yet? I have watched the Excellent video and seen the replacement of these parts (heater, defrost sensor, etc.) , and the clearing of the water drain tube. I have read that there was a class action suit for these refrigerators, but nothing on a fix for the design problem. Can you offer some guidance before I purchase the parts needed to replace as per the video and find out that this will happen again…..Also were any of the parts that I order been revised as to help solve the icing problem?

Thank you,
Mark

Hi. I do not believe that defrost components on this unit have been modified from the originals. The reason that a defrost issue would occur is from part failure. Also, if the drain tube gets clogged with debris or water freezes in them it will cause the water to not drain and thus back up into the refrigerator or freezer. I have replaced many defrost parts on these refrigerators and cleared many drain tubes and usually do not see any reoccurring issues. I hope this is helpful.
