Hi. Most of the time, all lights have to be off to be able to enter into the diagnostic mode. You might be able to enter this mode if the lid lock light is on but no other lights. Press and hold the start button until the green light stops flashing to cancel any cycle the unit may be in. There is a delay on these units when you first plug the unit in. No lights will be on at first, and then you may hear a click after several seconds and then your lights will appear. This will happen even if you unplugged the machine for an extended period of time. After it comes back on, try to cancel the cycle. Sometimes canceling the cycle by pressing and holding the start button in for 5 seconds will also get rid of your lid lock light. If not and you still can not enter diagnostics, you may need to let it sit for several minutes while plugged in so the unit can sense that the basket is not moving and will finally unlock the lid. If not unlocked yet try again to cancel the cycle with the 5 second hold of the start button. Also, when you move the dial to enter into diagnostic mode you will need to do it slowly. If you go to fast the unit will not enter into the diagnostic mode. I have attached the tech sheet for you as well.

  • The sense light blinks until you hit the start button then it is still on but not blinking . the lid never locks. after a min. or so the lid lock blinks. but the lid never locks. The knob doesn’t go around 360 degrees. It only has 5 settings on dial. It says on washer commercial whirlpool. It’s one dial I haven’t seen before.
  • To be able to enter diagnostic mode to see what the error codes are, you need to have all lights off. Press and hold the start button for 5 seconds and the green light should go away. Then enter the diagnostic mode. If you can not get into diagnostic mode you could have a faulty control board, but it is unlikely. I sounds like we are just not getting into diagnostics correctly. After the green light goes off, or if the light does not go off, follow these steps. RESET – Place cycle selector knob pointer at 12 o’clock position and wait 3–4 seconds before proceeding. a. Rotate cycle selector knob counterclockwise one click. b. Rotate cycle selector knob clockwise one click. c. Rotate cycle selector knob clockwise one click. d. Rotate cycle selector knob counterclockwise one click. e. Rotate cycle selector knob clockwise one click. Successful activation of Diagnostic Test Modes will be indicated by all status LEDs (except for Lid Locked) flashing ON and OFF in half-second intervals. NOTE: LED names may vary between makes and models.

Hello
See diagnostics below. Also go to page #2 in the diagnostic guide below for more detailed information. If you do this exactly and cannot get it into the diagnostic mode you will be forced to replace the control.

1) Be sure the washer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off, or all indicators lit but not flashing).
2) There are 5 failure modes that can cause the washer to go out of service, indicated by all of the LEDs lit, but not
flashing. When this occurs, the washer cannot be started until the condition that caused the failure is corrected and the fault code is cleared. Use the following steps to enter into Fault Code Display Mode, view the fault code, and clear logged fault codes.

3) Perform the following sequence of movement using the cycle selector knob.
NOTE: AFTER RESET, sequence “a” through “e” must be completed within 6 seconds, stopping just briefly between each click (resulting in the following sequence: Left – Right – Right – Left – Right, as indicated below).
RESET – Place cycle selector knob pointer at 12 o’clock position and wait 3–4 seconds before proceeding.
a. Rotate cycle selector knob counterclockwise one click.
b. Rotate cycle selector knob clockwise one click.
c. Rotate cycle selector knob clockwise one click.
d. Rotate cycle selector knob counterclockwise one click.
e. Rotate cycle selector knob clockwise one click.
Successful activation of Diagnostic Test Modes will be
indicated by all status LEDs (except for Lid Locked)
flashing ON and OFF in half-second intervals. NOTE:
LED names may vary between makes and models.
Legend: = ON = OFF
Figure 2 – Status LEDs flashing ON and OFF
If the status LEDs do not display as described above, the
sequence may not have been completed within 6 seconds.
Repeat step 2 to ensure this was not the cause. If still
unsuccessful, see Unsuccessful Entry, page 3. in technician manual link below
A troubleshooting tool has been implemented onto the main
control board—a diagnostic LED.
LED ON – The Control is detecting correct incoming line voltage
and the processor is functioning.
LED OFF – Control malfunction. Perform TEST #1: Main Control,
page 12, to verify main control functionality
