Clean Your Washing Machine with Mouthwash

There comes a time when your washing machine begins to smell funky from bacteria and mildew buildup. How are you clothes supposed to really get clean by sloshing around with that? Sure, you could use bleach and perhaps even vinegar, but why be ordinary when you can be extraordinary? Yes, we’re still talking about your smelly washer. Listen, you didn’t do anything wrong, it just happens overtime. Think about it—you’re putting in soiled clothing in a dark and wet environment. Things are bound to get nasty.

Ok, onto the solution already. Do you have antiseptic mouthwash? Good. Because that’s all you need to disinfect and kill the odor-causing bacteria in your washing machine. Simply pour yourself 1/2 cup of mouthwash into your empty washer and run it as you normally would. Not only does mouthwash clean your mouth, it surprisingly will make your washing machine bacteria-free.

While this laundry tip isn’t the only hack you can get away with mouthwash, you can also apply this same method to your laundry. Follow the same method above and add clothes. Just make sure if you do go this route, you use mouthwash that won’t stain your clothing. In no time, your laundry and washing machine will be bacteria-free…all from some tossed in mouthwash—who would’ve thought?
