How to Prevent and Get Rid of Mice Humanely

It's that time of the year when your home starts to fill up with uninvited guests. So what's the best way to deter, prevent and get rid of such visitors? Of all rodents and pests that enter our homes, mice are the most unpleasant, and removing them can be a hassle. However, there is no hurdle that's too high to jump over. Mice can be removed in a humane fashion. Here's how:

Ensure your interior and exterior walls are secure and any holes are sealed to deter them from entering your house. Moreover, ensure that no home appliance has anything including food that can attract mice. All of your food should be safely stored in airtight containers not accessible by mice.

Another natural deterrent is peppermint! Whether you use peppermint tea or soak cotton balls in peppermint oil, place this around your home, especially in the kitchen and into the walls of you’re home by accessing the sockets– we’ve discussed something similar to this in a previous article, too.

Are these steps enough? Obviously no! What do you do if already you are living with mice? Using humane, live traps that catch mice is a great method. They get in but not out. Once you catch them, release them at least a mile away from your home. Then, implement natural deterrents to keep them away.

Preventing and getting rid of mice humanely is that simple. Give it a try and live comfortably and undisturbed at this time of the year.
