Make a Stovetop Smoker with Foil, a Steamer Insert, and a Large Pot

Smoked food—the taste, the smell— what’s not to love? If you don’t have a BBQ grill or smoker, no worries. You can make yourself a stovetop smoker that’s super easy to whip together. Grab up some tin foil, a large pot, and a steamer insert. That’s it. That’s all you need to make a DIY stovetop smoker. No need to make life complicated!

Over at WonderHowTo, Brady Klopfer explains how easily it is to put together the makeshift smoker. Simply line the bottom of your pot with foil and add some grilling wood chips on top. Add another layer of tinfoil on top of your wood chips. Then, place your steamer insert onto the foil, and add in your food you want smoked.

Pop on your lid to your cooking pot, and cover any ventilation holes or leaks around the lid with foil to keep the smoke in.

Finally, turn on your stovetop to a medium-high heat, and then turn the heat to low. Once your food is finished cooking...err....smoking, allow it to cool down with the lid still in tact. You have a bunch of smoky infusion of deliciousness still going on.
