Pop Homemade Kettle Corn in the Microwave with a Paper Bag

You can never go wrong with popcorn. Ever. Especially when you can make it right from scratch without the expensive price tag or weird chemicals. Besides just popcorn (is there really such a thing?), Grant Thompson – “The King of Random” over at YouTube kicks it up a notch and shows you how to make kettle corn right in your microwave. Homemade. The whole shabang.

The best part of it all? I bet you have all that you need in your pantry to get a popping.

Brown paper lunch bag? Check.
Salt? Double check.
Olive oil? Triple check.
White sugar? You’ve got it.

In the video above, all you have to do now is measure out some kernels, pour oil over them, and toss ‘em in the bag along with your salt and sugar. Twice-fold your bag for good measure, set it on a paper towel, and nuke your concoction for a couple minutes. Before you know it, you’ll have fresh and healthy popcorn you can’t believe you just made…King of Random style.

I bet you could even melt down some coconut oil to substitute the olive oil for, too. If you’re not feeling the love of kettle corn, you could always omit the sugar for salty goodness. Feeling cheesy? Toss some nutritional yeast onto your popcorn for a dairy-free alternative. There are so many different and tasty varieties you can come up with on the cheap, and on the go.

While you’re at it, make sure to check out The King of Random’s YouTube channel—the perfect videos to munch your popcorn to.
