Drop an Ice Cube into Soups & Casseroles to Remove Grease

Sometimes cooking doesn’t always go our way, and dishes become too fatty or greasy. Before you toss out your hard work right out the window (figuratively speaking of course), walk right over to your freezer, and grab yourself up an ice cube or two. For overly greasy sauces, soups, and casseroles, simply drop an ice cube into your oily dish. The ice cube will attract the glistening grease in which you can easily scoop out with a spoon. In addition to attracting the fat, the cube will also cause the oil to harden which makes it easier to remove. So while you’re cooking a mean dish on your stovetop, you don’t have to worry about cooling down the entire thing with just an ice cube. Make sure you have your ninja skills ready, as this trick requires you to act fast with your scooping action since the ice cube will melt quickly. Mission accomplished. Your tasty (non-greasy) dish is saved.
