How to Make Delicious Potato Chips in Your Microwave

Who can say “no” to a potato chip? Even better yet, why not make this delicious and crispy snack in your microwave? They’re super easy, fresh and a healthier version than what you get in the bag. Deborah Lewis from CHOW.com shows you how you can make homemade potato chips in a snap using your underestimated kitchen appliance, the microwave. You’ll want to first begin by slicing your potatoes thinly—Yukon gold or russet potatoes will work just fine (if you’re feeling real fancy, you can opt for a sweet potato instead). Place your potato slices on some parchment paper, add oil to your slices, and any flavoring you’d like. Deborah mentions awesome flavor combos like salt and vinegar or sesame oil and salt. This got us thinking of flavor combinations like cayenne pepper, salt, cumin, and garlic and onion powder to spice things up a bit. Then, place your soon-to-be potato chips in your microwave and nuke ‘em for about 5 minutes, or until they turn brown on the edges (that’s when you’ll know they are done). Om nom nom…betcha’ can’t just eat one.
