How to Make Long-Lasting Muffin Tin Ice Cubes

Whew, it’s warming up out there. And, you know what that means? Drinks, lots of drinks. Whether you’re getting ready for a graduation party, family gathering, or the likes, you ought to make sure your big pitchers of tasty goodness doesn’t get watered down by small, pesky ice cubes. The solution? Bigger ice cubes of course. With the increased surface area, larger ice cubes will melt slower and last much, much longer. Not only are larger cubes perfect for your homemade punch, but also are perfect for the cooler. You can get these larger ice cubes with the use of a muffin tin (thanks for the tip, Real Simple)! Simply fill up your tin with water (or your choice of drink, you savvy person, you), and pop it in the freezer for a few hours or so. When you go to release the ice cubes, you may want to set the tin in some warm water since the muffin tray isn’t all that flexible. Not bad.
