All Home Appliances Have the Ability to be Made Smart through CloudSense

Home appliances are designed to do one job pretty well, but they're quite limited beyond that. Yes, they're known for convenience, but also independence. They don't have a reputation for being very smart, as many modern electronics do, and their independence limits the level of convenience. Fortunately, CloudSense for home appliances seeks to change this.

Following the standard already set by cell phones, CloudSense seeks to make home appliances "smart" and connect them to the world wide web. Afraid the clothes may still be a little damp after a full cycle? Simply restart the dryer right from a mobile phone. Afraid the house isn't completely secure? Check the locks from any location on the planet. By selectively placing small sensors around the house, home owners can use the central hub to control and check appliances (among other things, including windows and doors) right from an iPhone.

Its approach is also smart. CloudSense does not require any special knowledge or equipment. Instead, it incorporates a number of technologies to seamlessly connect home appliances to a variety of mobile devices. The result: a method of controlling appliances while on the go with the ease of operating an iPhone app. The AppleWatch is also included, with Windows, Android, and other devices likely joining the list soon.

This convenience has been made possible by the painstaking efforts of Sam Harrell, an enthusiastic IT professional. Motivated by an upcoming TechCrunch Disrupt Hackathon event, Harrell had a single day to complete a project that would impress the tech industry. Through a lack of sleep, exhaustive last minute coding and even a fire, he was able to produce a prototype that was literally finished just minutes before taking the stage. Despite his last-minute preparation, the project managed to impress crowds and draw media attention. And for good reason: after going commercial, CloudSense will finally bring home appliances into the "smart" digital age.
