Brew a Cup of Coffee with GE’s Built-In Keurig Refrigerator

Coffee. It is the staple of many of our mornings especially when you have a case of the Mondays…or Tuesdays…how about having a case of every weekday except the weekends? I’m so totally right there with you.

Now, countertop space is a precious, precious thing in the kitchen, but you need a coffee maker, otherwise things could get bad. While a refrigerator doesn’t take up counter space, you do get water and your cool beverages from it at the very least.

Do you see where I’m going here? GE had the brilliant idea to combine a coffee maker and refrigerator together to bring you *poof* the GE Café Series French Door Refrigerator with Keurig K-Cup Brewing system.

Besides just clearly being awesome, you do get to clear up your counter space your Keurig coffee machine is taking up. Plus, it’s super convenient. Since this fridge dispenses filtered water, you don’t even need to worry about refilling the Keurig reservoir…or forgetting to fill it up the night before.

Now, if you’re on the up and up on new appliance releases and the such, back in the days of 2013, GE released their Café series refrigerators that dispensed hot water for teas, soups and more. So why not integrate a Keurig brewing system that dispenses hot water into the K-cups to give you what you really want? Coffee. (and tea).

It’s really simple to use. You pop a K-cup inside the Keurig brewer, a plastic pod-like accessory, and slide it into the refrigerator dispenser. Then, you can choose to have your refrigerator brew a small, medium or large sized cup. I’ll take the large, please. Once your fridge heats your filtered water to the perfect temperature, you turn a red-lighted dial counterclockwise – a well thought out safety mechanism – to begin the brewing and dispensing right in your mug.

The best part about all of this is the refrigerator’s mobile app so you can schedule when you want your water heated. Then, when it’s time to wake up, turn the dial and you have yourself some coffee to help you get a start to the day.

GE plans to release this beast in fall 2015 for a MSRP of $3300. Coffee, anyone?
