Clean Burnt Cooking Pans with Vinegar and Baking Soda

A scorched cooking pan or pot is bound to happen to the best of us. I admit nothing! And, the total un-savvy way is either tossing out your pan or scrubbing your elbow off. Both of which, don’t sound like a good idea to me. So, if you’re looking to keep your cookware AND save your elbow grease, I have just the solution for you.

Getting rid of those burnt mark eyesores is super easy. All that you need is more than likely sitting right in your pantry: vinegar and baking soda.

Simply pour out a cup of vinegar into your pan – give or take – as this depends on the deepness of your pan. Now, pop your pan on top of your stovetop and bring it to a boil. You should already see a difference already. Remove the pot from the heat and add a few tablespoons of baking soda. Then, pour it all out.

Now, there will be some marks left. So, take a scour pad or the abrasive part of your sponge and lightly scrub. Feel free to make a baking soda paste with water to get any marks that don’t come off right away. Finally, rinse, and your pan will look like brand new.

I suppose you can apply this same method to your baking sheets too. Why not pour some vinegar on the sheet, and pop it in your oven, bringing it to a boil? Then you’d apply the same method with baking soda, and some scrubbing action.
