Free Up Refrigerator Door Space by Clearing Out Condiments

Every time I come home from the grocery store, more condiments like hot sauce, mild sauce, soy sauce, ketchup, brown mustards, and more, take up all of my refrigerator door space. Where am I supposed to put the salsa??

Apparently, I’m not the only one! Brady Klopfer over at WonderHowTo.com shares that it’s pretty much the norm to cram your refrigerator door with condiments. If you’re looking to free up your door space, there’s a simple solution out there, sauce hoarders: pop your condiments that don’t require refrigeration in your cupboards.

This includes opened mustard, ketchup, and vinegar bottles (mmm malt vinegar and fries…). Don’t forget that unopened items like store jellies, shelf salsas, soy sauces, marinades, and etc., can be placed in your pantry. Of course, your things like mayo, (opened) BBQ sauce, and pickles need to be refrigerated. That hot sauce? That Sriracha? Yeah, toss those babies in the cupboard even if they’re open.

By popping out condiments that don’t require refrigeration, you free up your fridge door space…so you can buy more condiments of course! Overall though, it does save you space and lets you see what you have before buying more stuff.

So what do you use your refrigerator door for? Thankfully Klopfer has set us straight. Since the door is the warmest part of your refrigerator, use the door to access items quickly and that you use a lot of. For instance, butter, beverages, and condiments that require refrigeration, are great for the fridge door.
