Keep Holiday Drinks Warm in a Slow Cooker

If you’re hosting a party in the near future, there’s no need to add more work on yourself especially when it comes to serving warm drinks. Between prepping the food, answering the door, and catching a bite yourself, the last thing you want to do is run back to the kitchen a million times to refill drinks.

So don’t. Whoa, did I just break the rules of party hosting?

Yup, sure did. And here’s how not to feel guilty about serving your signature hot drink: pour that stuff in the slow cooker.

There’s no need to use up precious stove top room when you can keep your drink at the perfect temperature right in your slow cooker. If you put out the slow cooker where everyone will be, then your friends, family, and coworkers can serve themselves. You won’t even have to worry about your drink burning on the stovetop. Guests won’t topple over each other and crowd up your kitchen. It’s a win-win situation we’ve got going on.

You can even have a “kids” slow cooker self-serve warm drink and one for “adults only.” Before your partay begins, pour in the drink of your choice—from hot chocolate to a hot toddy—and set your slow cooker to the low setting. That’s it. Pop a ladle by the thing, and hello, you’re good to go. Depending on what drink you serve, you can set out cinnamon sticks for your guests to stir their drink for a bit of festivity, or a bowl of marshmallows to top that hot chocolate with.

It’s a sure way for everyone to help themselves, break the ice, and feel more comfortable.
