This is the best thing ever, and I can’t believe I am now just finding this out. A regular, non-wide mouth Mason jar can be used in lieu of the pitcher for your blender. Most blenders that is. Do you know what this means? Fewer dishes and the utmost convenience anyone on the go could ask for. No more skipped breakfasts for you or me!

Some people like to be messy in the kitchen; me, on the other hand, I love to cook, but the mess afterwards is the worst part. This Mason jar blender business takes care of it all—well most of it anyways.

In the video above, TheKitchn shows you how to convert your Mason jar into not only a pitcher, but also a single-serving container that is effortless and the easiest blending experience ever. Now, this trick will only work with blenders that have a separate base that unscrews along with a separate blade. It’s a matter of popping in your smoothie ingredients, nuts, sauces, or whatever else you feel like blending up into your Mason jar. You then place the blade on the jar, and screw the base on until it is secured. Pop that on your blender and blend away.

What I love about this the most is your Mason jar pitcher turns into a container you can sip your morning protein shake from, or slap a lid on the thing and toss it in the refrigerator for later—no need to dirty extra storage containers.

Usually, when I blend something up, I never feel I get all of the blended goodness out of the blender pitcher and end up with waste going down the drain (even with a small, silicone spatula to dig everything out). This solves that problem, plus some—especially if you’re making a single serving of something at a time. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Vitamix—now that has been a life changer in itself, but unfortunately won’t work with this trick.

With all of this Mason jar ingeniousness going on, you get all that you bargained for and don’t have to waste money on super expensive blenders on the market. Um, yes please.

Would you ever give this a try?
