2 Upgrades to get your Washer and Dryer to Last Longer

Washer: Replace the hose!

A washer that is damaged due to a burst washer hose can turn out to be very costly for you. There is a quick fix for this; simply replace the washer hose with a metal version if your appliance already doesn't have it. When you do go for a switch, make sure to check for any wear and tear. Research suggests that a steel-jacketed hose is the better option due to its durability. Also, check back every once a while (6 months is recommended) to ensure there is no damage to the hose. It is optimal to replace the hose every 5 years. A simple yet easy upgrade, isn't it?

Is your dryer always clogged with dust?

Replace your dryer's duct with a metal version too. Many people just clean out the lint filter and that is that; you need to opt for deeper cleaning to make your dryer last longer. Open up the top or front panel with a few screws to access the inside; make use of a good vacuum sweeper and sweep the entire lint out which has been building up inside the drum. This should take you a maximum of 20 minutes and doing it once every few months will definitely keep your dryer in a healthy state.

Take care of your appliances, keep them clean and you're well on your way to giving them a long-lasting life!
