How to Repair a Leaking Refrigerator

A leaking fridge can prove to be quite a nuisance, especially because at times it may really mess up with your food budget. The good news is, you can simply do it yourself and save on that extra cost!

Inspect parts that are commonly responsible for fridge leaks such as:

Water Inlet Valve
In most cases you will find it at the rear part of the fridge near the bottom. You should inspect the valve connections for any leaks and tighten or replace the connectors where necessary.

Door Seals
Moisture present along the edge of the fridge door may signal distorted or damaged gaskets. If that is the case, you should replace them and ensure they are always clean.

Ice Maker
If there is a leak around the ice maker you should inspect: the fill tube and fill cup at the back of the icemaker ensuring they are not frozen, the fill cup confirming there are no objects blocking the path of water into it, the outlet tubing for any signs of restrictions. You should then replace and clean where necessary.

These are some of the parts that you can easily replace or repair.
