Use Your Coffee Grinder for More Than Just Coffee

A coffee grinder is fairly basic. Not everyone has one, but it is quite a common appliance. It may be called a coffee grinder, but it can be used for so much more!

We all have a spice cabinet, but what about your own spices that are freshly ground? Look no further, it's easier than you think!

Your first step? Have a coffee grinder. You need to make sure you will use it only for this purpose as flavors and aromas could possibly mix. If your spices are dried or roasted, be sure to let them cool down before beginning the grinding process. This way, they cannot affect the interior of the grinder and they will be easier to handle. Now, pulse your spices. Instead of holding the button down, just pulse them.

Spices can lose flavor if the heat is applied too much to them. Your last step is the easiest of them all: store your unused spices! Make sure they are in an airtight container away from sunlight and moisture and you will have freshly ground spices for weeks to come.
