Build a Campfire with Waterproof Dryer Lint Capsules

There’s no better way to start a fire than with dryer lint, hence why you should clean out your ducts and lint housing assembly on the clock. Instead of blasting money away on fire-starting logs, why not make your own fire-starting capsules that are waterproof, portable and virtually free? This trick comes from Instructables user, At29035ft. For this project, all you need to do is fill up a paper egg carton with small wads of dryer lint. Cut each compartment out, fold over the sides and tie them together with dental floss— any sort of twine will do. To make the 12 starters waterproof, drop some candle wax in a jar, and place that in a pot full of water on your stovetop. Allow the wax to melt, and submerge the lint starters into the wax. Finally, allow your waterproof lint starters to harden and dry; you’re now good to start a fire. Whether you’re craving s’mores, backpacking out in the wildness, or sitting out with friends wanting a fire, this easy method gives you a dozen fire-starters that last for a burn-time of 15 minutes—enough to give you some good flames to get the job done.
