Use Kool-Aid to Clean your Dishwasher

Who could have thought an everyday item like Kool-Aid, could be so useful to clean your dishwasher? There’s no need to spend your hard earned cash on harsh chemical cleaners, anyways. Forget that. But, what you shouldn’t forget is to only use one particular type of Kool-Aid: unsweetened lemonade.

Nothing else. Why? The lemonade flavor has the citric acid content you need along with a lack of color—which is very important. If you were to use a flavor like Rock-a-Dile Red, you’re just asking for red streaks everywhere in your dishwasher…let’s just say that would be an absolute disaster. Keep it simple. Cleaning your dishwasher with a lemonade Kool-Aid packet is a super easy process. First, make sure your dishwasher is empty. Then, pour one entire packet of Kool-Aid into your dishwasher’s powder detergent receptacle. Now, you are ready to go ahead and run your unit on a normal cycle. Afterwards, open up your dishwasher, and admire the sparkly clean interior. I bet you’re wondering what the secret is? The citric acid from the lemonade will help remove iron-stains and lime-build up in your appliance.
