I press the test button & the chimes came on, but another set of chimes did not respond. ice maker did not cycle & fill the ice tray.
  • the chime means it entered the test cycle for the ice maker. You most likely have a faulty ice maker but it could be a number of things. I have ran into the same symptoms. To pin point it you would need to check to see if you are getting voltage to the ice maker when it is suppose to be going through a cycle.

As mentioned, I manually put water into the tray & after a while it dropped ice cubes. that means it has voltage to the ice maker, right?
  • Yes, you have voltage then. It did not fill backup with water, you do not have ice and ice maker after it dumped? Are you able to get water out of the dispenser? You could not be getting water to the ice maker. Could be a frozen fill tube or no water to unit.

Brian, You are correct, I do not have ice after I manually put water into the tray & after it made ice & drop the harvest of ice. As mentioned when I first submitted my problem, I mentioned that I had already replaced the water filter assembly, which also includes pumps & hoses. The water line to the ice tray is not frozen. My problem is that I am not getting water to the unit as I have mentioned earlier. My guess, is that A signal is not getting to the water pump to activate & fill the ice tray. Could this be the ice maker itself or something else?
  • Yes, it could be the ice maker it self that is preventing water from going in to the ice maker. Not that common on this one though. Could be the control board, or wiring as well. Possibly a door switch. To be able to test that you would need check the wiring diagram to see how power is ran between the ice maker, control, and ice maker. Find a test point and be able to cycle the ice maker and test for voltage when it is suppose to fill. Did you say you can get water out of the dispenser? So you do have water going into the refrigerator and through the filter? Do you have a water filter installed?

Brian, There is no water in the dispenser (Tray). After I put the water in, it froze & the ice maker dropped the ice. Since than, No water is going to the ice maker. Water is going to the filter. Yes, I installed a new filter assembly & I can get water at the water dispenser, but no ice.

Brian, there are two switches on the left top of the refrigerator, one of which is a button switch (Ohm & its okay) & the other seem to be some kind of sensor type of switch. Could this be my problem?

When the left side French door opens, these switch must activate or open a circuit?
  • Yes. These have a magnetic door switch. Your temperatures would be off if this switch was not working since the door needs to be closed for the fans to run on these units.

Brian, any idea why the water is not flowing into ice tray?

It’s not anything you mentioned? What about the button switch next to the magnetic switch on the top left? What is it”s function?

Does the ice maker sends a command to the water solenoid to fill the ice tray with water or does some other sensors signal the water fill?
  • It looks like the control board tells the inlet valve to open to fill the tray with water. So, the ice maker cycles then would send a signal to the board when it is ready to fill, then the control board sends power to the inlet valve to fill with water. Look at page 97 and then 99 of the service manual for the wiring schematic section of the control board related to the ice maker.
