Are you kidding. You have to run the complete diagnostic cycle? 56minutes? That is ridiculous! !! Isn’t there some way to manually test it? This will take too long for a service call.
  • On page #19 there is troubleshooting by error in the manual link below. I do not know of a manual test and there is nothing in the manual indicating it can be done manually.

After running the diagnostic test the code displayed was 5tAn. What does this mean? The customer said she sees the dc code. Could this be the vibration sensor

I stayed with it the whole cycle and it did agitate and spun at full speed
  • The DC error is a motor hall sensor fault error on page #25 in the manual link . The 5tAn is not in the manual and I cannot find any information that Samsung washers have this error.

I replaced the vibration sensor but the unit still showes the DC code. What it does is if I set it in rinse and spin it fills and drains and counts down to 6 minutes then jumps back to 18 minutes and fills again. I checked the rotor position sensor and the readings were accurate but the motor windings was not19.4 ohms but 12 to 14. Is it the stator? The diagnostic did not show the 3e code. Any Ideas?
  • It does not sound like the stator is the problem. It sounds like the washer is recognizing an off-balance load and trying to rebalance the load on its own. Check for faulty shocks. Push down on the basket it should bounce once and stop when you let go. if it bounces over and over your shocks are bad.

I changed the damping rods (all 4) and the vibration sensor and it still showes the customer the DC code and will not finish spinning. WHAT IS THE SOLUTION? What do I check next. I have found on this one that If I Press SPIN and SOIL LEVEL AND POWER it will go into some kind of diagnostic mode and if i rotate the dial counterclockwise spin will come up and when I press start it will spin 1000 rpm with no clothes. Still no code at the end of the manditatory automatic test cycle 56 minutes.
  • check for anything that can be creating a drag on the basket. make sure there are no clothes stuck between the basket and tub. Check to see if the rotor is tight. Is it loud in spin? Bad bearings could create enough drag to get the DC error. Make sure the basket is tight. If everything looks good , you could have a faulty hall sensor or control board.
