Hi thanks I tested the switch that is in the top section of the left french door and it changes continuity when the door is opened or closed. I then looked for the solenoid that diverts water to the dispenser or ice maker and it does not appear to be behind a rear cover. One of the rear covers has pc boards in it and the other just has a compressor and coils. Samsung Model rf263beaebc Any suggestions?

Can you tell me where the water inlet valve is located?
  • The water valve is 12-9 on the diagram and is located near the water filter. Here is a link for the parts break down. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/samsung-refrigerator-parts/model-RF263BEAEBCAA0001/1482/0161000/50040548/00002.html

So from what I can tell the valve is only available with the complete tank. Do you guys have a video on how to replace the tank or valve?
  • Yes, from what I am finding it comes as the whole assembly. p# DA81-05997A

So I found the switch in the freezer and I only found one. It seems to control the light only. The switch does work. I taped off the switch in the door as well and still no production. I am now leaning towards the water valve. Is it easy to replace like the other components were? Can you help with instructions?
  • I would not think the water valve is your issue. It’s only job is to put water into the ice maker which it is doing. The issue is that the ice maker is not harvesting which would be from a bad sensor in the ice maker or the door switches not working. I would be leaning twords a bad ice maker. This is strange that it is still not working..

Does the water valve have a solenoid in it that switches from filling a glass to filling the ice maker?
  • The water inlet valve should have 2 separate solenoids. One the dispenser and one for the ice maker. I have never seen or heard of a diverter valve in an inlet valve for a refrigerator.

New main board. New Ice Maker. And with either combination of both the ice tray will harvest once after the reset button is pressed. Any last ideas before I buy ice cube trays? I am leaning towards the water inlet valve but as you can see I know nothing about refrigerator repair. By the way you guys have been AWESOME!
