This is the first time I have used the service . . . be waiting days in between responses while I have a non working refrigerator. . .
  • I’m sorry Mark. We are problems with are notifications on your replies. We are currently looking into the situation. Did you have power going to this control board you replaced? We are going to need to check voltage and trace it back to find out where we are not getting voltage. Did you un plug the unit for 15 mins to reset it during or after the repair?

Brian. Now we are getting somewhere. . .J9A connector on the main board services the user interface board. RED WHITE BLACK . . black should be 12 volts.? Overall might this be a ground problem? Can you just give me a list of things to check.

Brian, Should I email you or txt when I respond.?
  • I did get notified on both of your responses today. If there is every an instance in the future that we do not respond to you with in a couple of hours during the normal hours, please email us and let us know so your not waiting again. On the JA9 connector, it shows pin 1- red- (12v+), pin2 – white(common), pin3- black (ground). So you should have 12v from red to white. Also, 12 v from red to black. If so the main board is sending voltage to the UI board. Check at the same connection at the UI board to see if you get 12 v at the UI board. IF not you have bad wires somewhere between. IF you do get voltage to the UI board then It sounds like the UI board is bad. Is the UI board separate from the Refrigerator control board you replaced?

    JA9 No voltage Red . . .
  • Your not getting any voltage at the main control board at the JA9 connection? This would mean the control board is not sending power out for this circuit. You have said you already replaced this control board and have checked for 120v incoming voltage to this control board correct? Make sure you have 120 coming in properly to the control board. If so we could have a bad connection or pinched/ broken wire. Check through your wiring and connections at the board. You can also check some other test points on the board to see if it is sending power to any other components. I notice you stated the part number of the board you replaced previously and I found that board to be a different part number. Verify you have installed the correct part as well.

Known 1- Power is getting to the board at J1 Blk and Grn/Yel 2- No output at J9a confirmed by no lights on display Next Step Is there a fail safe mode or test mode for the board. .. . like how would you know if a board was good or not. . . other than putting it in a refrigerator? Is there a startup sequence that is being interrupted? There is a flow chart on the tec sheet for communication with the compressor inverter board. Main Control board is to be sending 10-15 VAC and 1-5 VDC to Inverter Board. There is a Blk/wht and Red/blk. I am getting 3-4 Volt DC when check this pair. If the inverter board is bad . . . does this shut everything down? Big Picture 2411996363 the original and replacement board could both be defective? What are the odds of that? In your experience is there a situation where boards are being damaged? So putting in a new board . . . only damages that board as well? There must be some history of this unit you can draw on. My time is up on the 21st can this be extended because of the communication issues? Regards, Mark
