hi…i have a ge top load washer …it will not start..dead…i thought maybe the gfi plug…but i plugged it into another source and it still will not start….i did reset the gfi and when i plugged it back in i heard a pop…..not good i know, but i do not know where to start to check it out…..is it fused?? or do you think something else is blown?
this is what i found elsewhere?? just an fyi…not sure what to think…
Cause 1 Thermal Fuse
If the washer overheats, the thermal fuse will blow. If the line fuse blows, the washer won’t start. To determine if the thermal fuse is at fault, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the fuse does not have continuity, replace it. In addition, you should investigate and resolve the problem that caused the fuse to blow. If you don’t resolve the underlying issue, the new fuse will blow too.
Cause 2 Main Control Board
The main control board might be defective. However, the main control board is rarely at fault for this symptom. Before replacing the main control board, first check all of the more commonly defective parts.

Hello, I love your new website.
My customer has a GE French Door fridge with the freezer on the bottom. I think the board that controls the fans is bad. I am the forth technician to service this fridge. She has had nothing but problems with it since she bought it. A year after, GE replaced the compressor. After that 3 boards were replaced. And more! Now this?..

I have replaced the defrost heater and thermostat and I still have trouble with the unit not defrosting. Is there a way to force the control board into defrost to check/test the defrost circuit? I’m not a GE dealer so I don’t have tech support available to me like I do with Frigidaire. I own a small appliance store and have an account with Marcone and Sundberg. Can you give me any support? Thank you David Little 217-452-3219

GOOD MORNING. I CHECED OUT THE STOVE, AND FOUND THAT THE FRONT RIGHT BURNER WAS GETTING SOME MILD HEAT WITH ALL DIALS IN THE OFF POSITION. THE BURNER IN USE LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. I FOUND THE CONNECTION TO THE FRONT RIGHT BURNER TO BE MELTED AND GROUNDING OUT. I TESTED THE ELEMENT AND IT DOES HAVE CONTINUITY. I DO HAVE 220 VOLTS TO THE DIAL SWITCH FOR THE FRONT RIGHT ELEMENT, BUT O VOLTS COMING OUT TO THE ELEMENT. I ASSUMED IT WAS A BAD DIAL SWITCH. AT THIS POINT I DISCONNECTED THE TWO POWER LINES TO THE BAD DIAL SWITCH. I THEN FOUND THE REAR LEFT ELEMENT TO HAVE A MILD AMOUNT OF HEAT, THIS DID NOT HAPPEN UNTIL I DISCONNECTED THE FRONT RIGHT ELEMENT, AND THE BURNER IN USE LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED. I LOOKED AT THE BACK OF THE REAR LEFT DIAL SWITCH AND NOTICED THAT WHEN I ROTATED THE DIAL ON AND OFF I COULD SEE AN ARC WITHIN THE DIAL SWITCH. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT, THANKS, TODD FROM NY.

I have a GE SPACEMAKER stackable washer/dryer. Customer complained that the washer knob broke off and that the washer is not working. When I arrived I noticed the knob from the washer side was off the potentiometer aperture handle (timer knob) resting on the washer. I tested the dryer and the dryer appeared to be working fine. I tried to start the washer to test it by turning the timer knob (which had fell off of the control panel frame bracket) and pressing start button. Not only did the washer not show any sign of life by not starting, but I tried turning the knob on the timer without the knob attached and I could not hear any “click” coming from inside the timer indicating that it was advancing to the next stage of the washing cycle.
I removed the control panel cover and noticed the timer slid out of place in its socket when it was supposed to be securely fastened to the front panel. The knob was turning but the timer was not clicking as it advanced. I tried to unplug the connector OF THE TIMER from the wires but coud not notice any discrepencies visually. Should the wires have been checked ?? continuity ? voltage ? Could I have a bad timer ? If the dryer works fine and the power is getting to the dryer and stopping when it gets to the washer could the timer be preventing this ?
Timer part # 131758600 (WRITTEN ON TIMER ITSELF)

diagram 3 part 316 shows a hub belonging to the washer, after removing the tub from cabinet, and removing all securing hardware from the inntertub to the outertub, the hub will not release from the bottom of the outertub. Is there a special procedure for removal, or is it simply stuck in place? Need to know in order to find and replace tub bearing, along with tub seal.

Do I need to pull the fridge out in order to replace the heat exchanger or can I pull it out of the channel and snake the new one in? The heat exchanger is inside a channel. I don’t really want to pull out the fridge if I don’t have to. It’s pretty big and bulky and will need realigning to align it with the freezer on the left. Also, how do I remove the trim piece in between the freezer and the refrigerator if I need to pull out the fridge? Any materials or documents that can help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

This ge fridge is showing temps different than what’s set. The big thing is the temps shown vary greatly with the set temps. With thermometers placed in the fridge and freezer they show good temperatures inline with the set temps. The fridge has never got over temp.

this unit on the rise cycle will stop and get a blinking led. I have the teck sheet but cannot make out how to read the error code.the led status are 1,o,* and so if it is blinking on rise which one would i read? This is on the critical fail mode table and then it has the No critical fail mode table. What i did on this unit i replace the tranny ot what they call support. I was not doing this before the repair, I do hear the lid lock trying to lock, like the strike is in the way of the lid switch

Hello
Older side by side GE refrigerator – complaint is that ice clogs the chute – when calling for ice it seems as if the ice comes out of auger bucket too soon and doesn’t allow the door to open in time – I replaced the time module delay (WR55X129) in the hopes that that was the culprit – almost a month later and the customer is calling back with the same complaint. Ice size seems appropriate and dispenser door seems to open and closer properly. Ice cubes are proper thickness and good water supply to ice maker . Thanks for any help

I am looking for a tech sheet for this dishwasher. Initial diagnostic mode we determined the door latch and strike should be replaced. The homeowner previously replaced the wire harness and main PCB board. After replacing latch the machine won’t start. When go into diagnostic all lights blink even when door is shut. Will not enter service mode at all. Hopefully you can send a tech sheet for this model please

Does this unit have a heat exchanger?
My technician said he needs this part due to a Freon restriction. We are not finding a picture on the parts diagram.
My tech said its a capillary tube running from the evaporator that is likely restricted. He was working on a sealed system repair, replacing the compressor and evaporator today.
Please let me know the part number that would be needed.
