This ge fridge is showing temps different than what’s set. The big thing is the temps shown vary greatly with the set temps. With thermometers placed in the fridge and freezer they show good temperatures inline with the set temps. The fridge has never got over temp.

What have you tried so far?

I’ve replaced the damper assembly which includes a thermistor. That seemed to help but then it started acting up again.

Hi. If I understand your issue correctly, the temps Inside the refrigerator and freezer are good but the temps on the display say the unit is too warm. The first thing I would check is to make sure your air flow is good and nothing is blocking your thermistors. Try and reset the unit by unplugging it for 10 mins and plugging it back in. See if the display changes to the correct temps. If that does not work you can check the resistance of the thermistors at the control board in the back of the unit at the J1 connector. You will need your tech sheet.

Set temp is 1 and 37. It will sometimes show -3 and 30 then a few hours later 3 and 50. So it’s up and down.
  • The display temps will vary for a number of reasons such as opening and closing the doors, the unit going into defrost cycles, and ambient temperatures. The -3 and 30 do not concern me a whole lot as long as you are not getting food in the refrigerator that is freezing. 50 deg. Is a bit too warm for the refrigerator but like I was saying before the temps can fluctuate depending on what is happening with the unit. I would monitor the display temps along with the actual temps for the next week or so and see what happens. The most important thing is that the actual temps in the unit are correct. Also, make sure the condenser coils are clean.
