I would like to know how to diagnose this unit. She says ice maker not working. Do you have a fast tract troubleshooting you can send me or the tech service manual download so i can check it out, plus any in put you can giveme. thanks ahead of time.
will be going there to customers home as soon as i can arm myself with the knowledge on how to diagnose this bad boy. I know or dont know if i can jump the icemaker to see if the valve is working and or the icemaker. Does this unit have the led emmitter and the reciever?

Here is the tech sheet on this unit for you. ftp://ftp.electrolux-na.com/ProdInfo_PDF/Anderson/240389639.pdf . It shows how to cycle the ice maker. You can also just grab and pull on the racks of the ice maker, but it is not recommended in fear of breaking or damaging the ice maker. A lot of things can cause it not to make ice. A bad inlet valve or bad ice maker. First make sure temperature is cold enough in the freezer to make ice. Then cycle the ice maker and see if it goes through a cycle and fills with water. If no water check for ice in the fill tube, poor water pressure or a faulty inlet valve. If it gets water and still not producing ice you more than likely have a faulty ice maker.

I did that and the icemaker went all the way thru but no water came in. So does this mean i have a bad icemaker as the icemaker should send power to the inlet valve?

Did the inlet valve hum as it was trying to fill? You can check the valve for continuity. You can also run the ice maker through a cycle and check to see if it sends voltage to the valve. It will do this for about 7 seconds near the end of the cycle.
