My fridge is not cooling, Hovers around 45-50 degrees. Originally it had icing problems in the freezer side when it started to go bad but that part was fixed. Freezer does hold at around 0 degrees. There is small amount of cool air coming through vent between freezer and fridge on top.

What have you tried so far?

I have
Replaced the thermostat on top of the heater coils.
Replaced the heater in freezer
Replaced the mainboard on the back of refridgerator.
Replaced the evap. fan motor. There was a small chip in fan blade but dont think it make that much of a difference.
Replaced the lower thermistor

Hello
If your freezer is getting 0–5 degrees consistently and everything in the freezer is staying solid especially ice cream. I would then replaced the upper refrigerator ( Sensor Temperature thermistor)part #WR55X10025 located near the air damper in the upper refrigerator section. Also check the air damper to make sure its opening and closing properly. Sometimes the plastic gears brake and prevent the air damper from opening. If the damper does not open properly you will run in to warm refrigerator temperatures you are experiencing.

Replace the part, did not make a difference. The Plastic piece between the fridge and freezer. I even kept it open with tape and it didn’t make a difference. Temperature around 45 degrees . Any other ideas?
  • You have replaced every part that could be causing this issue. Have you looked at intake air at the bottom of the refrigerator / Freezer to make sure there is no intake air blockage ? We have one just last week that had an ice cream wrapper stuck in the intake air vent causing the refrigerator not to cool properly. Are you getting good air flow out of the vent with the evaporator fan motor running ? If not find the intake air vent and make sure there is no obstructions or ice in it, it will be at the bottom of the refrigerator section. Have you put ice cream in the freezer to verify that it stays solid. Also put 4-5 ice cubes in a dish and leave them in the freezer for 24 hours to see if they maintain their shape. If intake air is open with no obstructions .I am thinking this could be the start of a sealed system condition.

I have a separate thermostat I put in the freezer and fridge each. the Freezer does range around 0 degrees, and the stuff I put in it does freeze. I do believe that air is coming from the top to the fridge. i can see a small cloud of cold air. It just looks like it should be more of a flow. There is nothing that I know that is blocking it, I cleaned the fridge side multiple times when I changed out the parts.
  • What about the return air vent ? Is it unrestricted ?
