Is there a way to do a self diagnostic on this microwave via the control panel or otherwise? I was using it the other day and heard a loud bang, and then it stopped heating (although the lights still come on, the turntable cycles, etc)?

Also, via any self-diagnostic mechanism (if available), is there a way to get the serial number and in-service date or anything like that? This was installed in a house I bought but it doesn’t have the serial number anywhere on the machine and when I called Kitchenaid to determine if this is still covered under warranty they needed the serial number to find out but otherwise didn’t offer any help as far as locating the serial # if the label has been removed (which appears to be the case)…

Hi. I have got some information on this microwave for you. It looks like this is a counter top model. There is a one year manufacture warranty on it. The serial number of the product is listed on the same sticker the model number is on, and is usually located on the cabinet wall inside the microwave. The information listed on this unit from the manufacture is as follows.

**For Your Information:
Warranty on the models listed is a one year Total Replacement Warranty if the
product has failed. (The only parts that are available are the turntable, turntable
hub, turntable support, and on some models: the cabinet feet. These part
numbers are available in the Use & Care Guide). There are no other replacement
parts available for these models and these models have no service warranty. If
you are called to service these machines “do not schedule a service call”. You will
not be paid unless special authorization is provided.

I hope this was helpful to you!
