Customer complaint is the icemaker will not make ice. Stored error E2 – Icemaker cannot find home position. Harvest test failed.
Left unit running, but it never made ice on its own.
Returned later and found:
Ice mold full of frozen cubes that were never harvested.
Stored E2 again.
Further diagnostics:
Harvest test manually dumps the ice with no issues.
Fill test works and refills properly.
Unit cools normally with no temperature complaints.
Fill tube is not frozen.
After fan replacement, all tests still pass in diagnostics, but if left overnight the icemaker never harvests automatically and E2 returns again.

At this point the icemaker operates normally in service mode, manually harvests and refills correctly, but never starts an automatic harvest cycle during normal operation

Hello
There are a few Key Causes,
Ice Maker Motor or Switch Fault (Most Common): The ice maker test sequence failed to complete, or the internal home/harvest switch in the ice maker is not functioning correctly. I know you replaced the ice maker, we have had defective ice makers before. But would make this your last option. See complete job Aid, see ice maker diagnostics on page 3-8.
Ice Jam / Obstruction: A stuck ice cube or severe ice buildup is physically blocking the ice maker’s rake arm or tray from rotating.
Temperature Sensor (Thermistor) Error: On certain French door and side-by-side models, E2 indicates an out-of-range signal from the fresh food evaporator sensor or ice box thermistor.
Wiring or Control Communication Issue: Loose wire harness connections near the top door hinge or inside the ice compartment.

Troubleshooting Steps
* Perform a Hard Reset:
* Unplug the refrigerator (or switch off its circuit breaker) for 5 minutes.
* Plug it back in to let the main control board reset.
* Remove the ice bin and check inside the ice maker mold for jammed ice cubes or heavy frost buildup.
* If ice is jammed, thaw it carefully using a warm, damp cloth or hairdryer on low heat (keep away from plastic parts).
Check the Door Wiring Harness:
* Inspect the wire harness connector (usually located under the plastic hinge cover on top of the refrigerator door) to make sure all plugs are securely connected and free of moisture or corrosion.
