THE HOTPOINT MICROWAVE DOEN NOT OPERATE BECAUSE THE THERMOSTAT AT LOCATION#: 138 ON THE DIAGRAM DOES NOT HAVE CONTINUITY. THE PART# IS WB27X11213 110/0.
THE MARKINGS ON IT IS KSD210 AND 70.
IS KSD201 THE GENERIC PART NUMBER, IF SO WHAT DOES THE 70 MEAN?
IS IT’S ROLE TO PROTECT THE MAGNETRON?
I NOTICED LOCATION# 117, PART#: WB27X11208 70/0 AND LOCATION# 138, PART# WB27X11212 120/0 AND LOCATION# 130 AND LOCATION# 130, PART#: WB27X11210 160/0 ARE ALL GOOD. IF THE 70 IS A TOLERANCE LEVEL, COULD THIS HAVE BEEN WRONGFULLY MIXED UP WITH LOCATION 117 THAT HAS A 70/0 NOT LOCATION 138 THAT HAS 110/0? DOES IT MAKE THAT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE? IF I REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT THAT IS BLOWN AT 138 WITH A HIGHER NUMBER, FOR INSTANCE, 110/0 INSTEAD OF 70, MIGHT IT DELAY BLOWING, THEREBY DAMAGING THE MAGNETRON?

What have you tried so far?

I TEST CONTINUITY ON ALL THERMOSTATS AND SWITCHES. THE ONLY ONE I REMOVED WAS THE BLOWN ONE AT LOCATION 138. ALSO NOTICED EVERYWHER THE WIRINING HARNESS WAS CONNECTED HAD DARKENED CONTACTS (NOICE FILTER, SWITCHES, BULBS, TURNTABLE MOTOR

Hello
The WB27X11213 is rated at 70/40 . The KSD210 I am sure is just the original thermostat. see the link below on the step by step troubleshooting guide for your unit. This will walk you through every part and tell you where to check voltage, amperage, ohm readings. this will help before you replace the thermostat to make sure you do not have any other issues that could take out the new thermostat. • Also, this may be the t-stat for the automatic fan feature. The t-stat will close at a certain temperature which turns the fan on. This would be why it reads open when you test it.

The 2 yellow wire on the thermostat at the top of the housing was badly melted on the thermostat, also causing not power. Those wires lead to the noise filer board and to the thermostat on top of the magnetron. Should I cut them off and replace the connectors or replace the wiring harness?
  • You could just repair the bad wiring to the thermostat. Removed the damaged wiring and install new wire terminals.
