The fridge is leaking water into the bottom drawer and it is not cooling. I saw the video Samsung RF268ABBP Refrigerator Repair – Fresh food section is leaking water – Sensor. This is the closest to the model I have. Also another one I saw similar is Samsung RF266AEPN Refrigerator Repair – Not cooling properly, freezing up on the back panel – Evaporator and Defrost System. Am I better off trying to replace the sensor or the whole Evaporator and defrost system on my Samsung RF267AERS ?

Thanks in advance for your answer!

Hi Richard. It does appear that you have a defrost system failure. Now we need to test a few things to see which component of the defrost system is bad. Gain access to the evaporator and test your defrost heater for continuity. If you do not get any continuity your heater is bad. To be exact your heater should read about 90 ohms. Also, check your defrost fuse for continuity. IF no continuity your fuse is bad as well. If both the heater and fuse test good then it leaves the defrost sensor and control board. The sensor at 0 deg. Farenheight should read about 30k ohms and at 68 deg Farenheight should read about 6k ohms. If the sensor is out of range by more that 15% replace the senor. If the heater, sensor, and fuse all check good you will need a control board.
