Hello
I have the technician diagnostic sheet link below along with the Job Aid diagnostics. I am confused on the question. You are saying its warm at the top part of the refrigerator, the operating temperatures of the refrigerator are 36-42 degrees. Did you mean the freezer section ?

  • no the top of the refrigerator the refrigerator is at 36 degree and stays there. The bottom half of the refrigerator the freezer is warm. This is a bottom mount freezer refrigerator. I put it through the test #4 and the evaporator fan comes on and you can feel it starting to cool down. When you go out of the test it does nothing. The board is sending a signal, the 3 way valve is moving why won’t it drop down to the freezer side and start cooling? #WRF989SDAHO1
  • Have you inspected the evaporator for an even frost pattern after the unit has been running for at least one hour? If it not evenly frosted you may have a sealed system leak. We have serviced over 1000 of theses units and have only 1- defective three way valve. You need to inspect the evaporator for an even frost pattern. We have over 200 evaporator leaks. You can test the three way valve through diagnostics and you can just replaced the solenoid on the three way valve.
