I’ve just tried to use my broiler for the first time, even though I’ve had this oven for awhile already, and it doesn’t work correctly. It seemed to preheat, but then when I put my fish in, and set the timer, it seems to have shut off on it’s own. I started it over, did the same thing. Is cooling down and not staying on even though it says it is.

Mary, after a quick check into your model, I may have an easy fix for you. Some of these newer Whirlpool models require the door to be closed during broil instead of older models that required you to leave the door cracked while using it. If it’s preheating with the door closed, and then cooling when you leave it cracked, I’m assuming this could explain the issue for you. Let us know if not, and we’ll help you further diagnose.
