GE washer is missing a capacitor or does it require one. Motor has a blue black red wire on one side. On the other side it has a yellow orange wires. One side numbers are 1 2 3 on the other side numbers are 7 8 6 if I was to hook up a capacitor what terminals would I use. Wired up motor on bench give the pulling a spin it runs fine

Hi. Yes this unit does have a capacitor. It is p# WH12X10212. It is located under the front panel attached to the cabinet on the right side. I have the parts break down attached for you to take a look at. The capacitor is number 217 on the diagram. This is most likely your culprit causing the unit to not spin.

  • I am not able to get a schematic on this unit. Once you find the capacitor, just follow the 2 wires from it back to the motor to see where they hooks up to.

    There is no capacitor on it now. When hooking new on e up where do the wires go to no wires to be found. Do the go back to the terminal block on the motor
  • With out a wire schematic I do not know what wires to hook this up at. Do you not have access to the unit? There should be wires where the old one was connected at. It had to of had a capacitor previously. Also, the tech sheet that would have the wire schematic info is located under the control panel. Hopefully it is still there for you.
