Have a unit with no display when powered up. Display will come on when microwave door is opened and clock can then be set. Lower Oven can then be programmed and will start to heat as long as microwave door is opened. Lights also get very bright while oven is heating (oven and microwave lights both come on when either door is opened). If microwave door is closed relays can be heard clicking then display and oven both turn off. If microwave door is opened then clock display comes back up; although if you wait awhile before opening the door it just reverts to power failure mode. Relay board was already replaced to no effect.

Hi. I have attached the service manual for you. What’s happening is strange. According the the schematic the lights are controlled by the relay board that you already installed. It sounds like you have a voltage issue or a short somewhere. I have not heard of or seen this issues before. Check your 2 inline fuses. Check for any damaged wiring. Make sure the door switches are functioning properly.

Hello
Have you run the unit through the diagnostic mode ? If so do you have any error codes ? If you cannot get the unit into diagnostics you will need to start with the board, all units should go into diagnostic mode. Also you do not need to start a new question if you need a second answer, just scroll down and all information stays in the original question. Matt Ace technician

Are you referring to machine control board? Did not try diagnostic mode, was not aware of it when I was there.
  • Yes, the diagnostics are in the service manual I set to you yesterday.

Replaced machine control board and bridge board, for first minute or so seemed like that might have fixed it, opened microwave and oven doors separately and lights came on individually. Then seemed to revert to what I had before, open oven door and both lights come on. Close oven door and when the light dims to off the display also goes off, seems to go into power failure mode, could not get any fault codes so I’m assuming the new boards may have gone bad but not sure what would cause that to happen so soon.
