First off, I did not see an error code as the screen was black, even though the machine was still running.

Problem: Door spontaneously flew open at the start of the rinse cycle when the machine was filled. It happened twice (yes, I tried it again), both occurring at the same time in the cycle. It doesn’t seem to be the lock mechanism, because it locks perfectly during the rest of the time. I’ve used the machine since to spin hand washing, and it works fine. Your help is appreciated. Thank you

Thats a very strange occurance I havent personally ever seen this issue in the field. However the door strike should never come out of the lock mechanism during the cycle. If it does the main control board should recognize that the interlock switch is opened and the unit should automatically pause. The issue must lie within the main control board or the lock. I would visually inspect the door strike for any damage. From what your explaining if it is happening at the same point in the cycle I would be leaning more towards possibly a faulty relay on the main control board dropping power to the door lock solenoid. However the door lock is much cheaper than that board so as a guess sometimes its better to go with the cheaper option first. Hope this helps.

Hello
Go to the link below Technician training manual . Unplug the macine for 5- minutes.; Plug it back in and go to page #53 Test mode Press WASH / RINSE and SOIL LEVEL to display the test screen.
ERROR DISPLAY
If you press START / PAUSE when an error code is displayed, any error except PE will
disappear and the machine will revert to PAUSE status. In the cases of a PE, TE, or DE
error code, if the error is not cleared within 20 seconds, the machine will be turned off
automatically and the error code will blink on the display. In the case of any other error
code, if the error is not cleared within 4 minutes, the machine will be turned off
automatically and the error code will blink on the display.
In the event of an FE error code, the machine will be turned off and will not be restarted.

You will need to look at stored error codes and troubleshiooting guide. This should show any error codes. Matt Ace technician
