GOOD MORNING. I WAS TOLD THAT THE WASHER SHOWED A 44 THEN A SUD CODE. WHEN I GOT THERE THE WASHER DOOR WAS LOCKED AND WATER WAS IN THE DRUM. I REMOVED THE DRAIN PUMP AND THE IMPELLER WAS CLEAR AND MOVABLE. I SHUT THE WATER TO THE WASHER AND STARTED A CYCLE WITH THE PUMP DISCONNECTED. THE PUMP WORKS, BUT MAKES A LOT OF NOISE. I PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND IT WILL ENGAGE, BUT NOT PUMP WATER. THE WEIRD THING IS THAT WHEN I REMOVED THE PUMP FROM THE HOSES AND KEPT IT PLUGGED IN IT WOULD CONSTANTLY RUN EVEN IF I HIT THE OFF BUTTON. WHEN I DISCONNECTED THE ELECTRIC AND RECONNECTED THE ELECTRIC IT WOULD CYCLE ON AND OFF NORMALLY., BUT NOT PUMP WATER. ALSO ALL HOSES ARE CLEAR. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS, TODD FROM NY.

See complete diagnostics below for SUD Error. There is not an A44 error code for this model. If the pump will engage and not pump I would test the pump on 5-4 in the job aid link below. It sounds like a bad pump if you have power and its pumping. Verify with disgnostics liks below. Matt Ace technician

Possible causes for a ( SUD ) Error :

If too much detergent was used:
– Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle.
– Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch, and Central
Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check drain pump.
7. Check the pressure switch.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle.
