washing machine has error code and will not work. Couldn’t find what it means or what we’d need to do to fix it.

Loretta, and F1 error on your machine means “Primary Control Failure” and is usually only solved by replacing the Machine Control Unit (MCU) or what most call an electronic control. I’ll attach a part link if you’d like to purchase and install yourself, as well as a repair video to do this. Hope this helps and good luck!
